Keeping a positive mindset is very important when it comes to mood, better quality of life, and your mental health. I have rounded up 10 tips that can help you take the steps for more positivity or you can use the tips as reminders of what you could be doing for your mental health.
Start your day with positive thoughts
Today is a new day, new possibilities for success and wonderful outcomes. Start your day with reading daily affirmations they may not seem to help but continuing to say positive things in your mind and out loud. Saying positive things out loud releases a weight and stress when you block out negativity. ( insert link for more daily affirmations)
Write down accomplishments small or big
Focusing on your goals are important without productivity or taking active steps towards goals, or everyday things you need for yourself are extremely important. These are things you need to do for yourself, write down five small things you want to accomplish that day. Then write down one big one. If you write down several small ones this won’t be as intimidating and you won’t beat yourself down if you keep it small when all aren’t accomplished.
Take time to do an exercise you love
Exercising releases endorphins and leaves you refreshed. For me, I love running and yoga. Both are great for getting two things I need to be grounded/ mindful and getting rid of extra energy I had that would’ve been for anxiety.
Surround yourself with people who motivate and support you
This is really important ending toxic relationships relieves the weight you carry and once something has ended something new possibly amazing may begin.
Helping others can bring joy and love to the person you helped. Try to find a group or some type of organization that you feel passionate about. Little acts of kindness can go a long way.
This is a never-ending battle with anyone but letting goes and forgiving others for yourself let go of anger, confusion, pain, anything negative. Once you forgive take all those feelings and leave them with the person who hurt you.

Write down all the things you are grateful for. Once you are done look at your list than later on keep adding on to the list.
Take a Negative Situation and Figure out Positives
Every negative situation can either drag you down or you can take what happened and turn it into a learning experience. Think about what you are going through at the current moment and figure out what good things can come out of it.
Stop Making Small Problems into Big Problems
Think about a small problem evaluate it, think about these questions.
- Can it be easily fixed?
- Will this affect me in 5 to 10 years?
If you said no to both those questions take a few deep breaths and step back if needed.
Organize/Clean Your Home
I was reading the other day that clutter and a dirty house can lead to depression, anxiety, feelings of overwhelm. Take the time into your home for a clean space. Take it a room at a time you will get it done. Getting organized may help as well, write down what you plan to do for your house or daily chores or errands you have to do.
My tips can always be helpful or they can be reminders when life gets overwhelming.
